Precautions and contact information during the New Year Holidays

 

Winter vacation is approaching. The winter vacation is shorter than the summer vacation and will be over in no time if you do not make the best of it. Think hard about what you need to do and make a plan to be able to act from the start of the new year.

・Students whose plans after graduation have been determined: This is the period to prepare for the new start in April.

・Students whose plans are still undetermined: This is the last spurt. Please do your best.

・First years students: There is less than one year to determine your path for the future. Use this period for practice to realize your goals.

 

・Winter vacation: Saturday, December 24th – Monday, January 9th

・School closed: Tuesday, December 27th – 13:00 Thursday, January 5th

*During this period all school buildings will be closed

*School will be open from 13:00 on Thursday, January 5th

 

Recently, the number of infected people with COVID-19 is rapidly increasing. Please take care of your health and safety by acting in accordance with the following precautions during the winter vacation.

 

Precautions regarding COVID-19

  1. Avoid going out unless necessary
    (Please do not travel or go to crowded places)
  1. Please wear a mask when outside. Wash your hands carefully
    (Be sure to wear a mask. Wash your hands thoroughly)
  1. Avoid dining out with a large group of people
    (Do not go out drinking or eating with a large group of people)
  1. If you get infected with COVID-19 or have been in close contact, make sure to contact the school.
    (If you test positive for COVID-19, or have spent a long time with someone who tested positive for COVID-19, immediately contact the school)

 

Other precautions

 

  1. Regarding Part-time job
    Students are allowed to work 8 hours a day during school vacations. However, not more than 40 hours in one week. Be sure to not exceed the permitted hours.
  2. Regarding accidents
    The are many events during Christmas and the New year period, and many choose to temporarily return to their countries. Many problems arise due to carelessness, when in a new situation. Please be careful to avoid unexpected accidents.
  3. Regarding alcohol
    During the year-end and New Year holidays, the number of gatherings involving drinking increases. Please be careful of the following points.
    1) Underage drinking is prohibited. 2) Excessive drinking and binge drinking are prohibited 3) Forcing someone to drink is prohibited. 4) Drunk driving is prohibited. (Driving under the influence is a serious criminal act. This also includes riding a bicycle. It is also strictly prohibited to offer alcohol to someone who is planning to drive a car or bicycle).
  4. Students who aim to go on to further education or work in Japan should use the winter vacation to prepare. How you choose to spend the vacation might greatly affect your outcome.

If you have a fever or are feeling sick

Do not go to a PCR test center, but visit a hospital. You can search for hospitals through the site below (in Japanese). Make sure to make a reservation either online or by phone

If you are worried about infection, but not feeling sick

You can get tested at PCR test centers. Make sure to choose a center that can help you if your test comes back positive.
